Linda Macario
Linda Macario

Doll artist Linda Macario will be moving to Seattle, Wash., in the near future, bringing her exciting creative artistry to America. Born in Florence, Italy, Macario studied art in high school, learning the basics of drawing and sculpting, and soon after completing school found work as a graphic designer. She’s also done some illustrating for children’s books, but her interest in dolls always has beckoned her in that direction.

Dolls have been her focus since 1999, when she discovered the world of polymer clay and baby dolls. After attending several shows in Italy, Russia, and the U.S., she began carefully searching for the best way to transform her own ideas into beautiful dolls. She experimented with different materials, including polymer clays, air-dry clays, silicone, resin, and porcelain, and in 2009 she discovered a new way to express herself with ball-jointed dolls (BJDs).
